On Fort Myers Beach the problem is salt and sand, on homes that are newer and taller than anything the island had before.
Fort Myers Beach is a small town with a big job ahead of it. Hurricane Ian in 2022, then Helene and Milton in 2024, took down a large part of the island, and the rebuild is still going on nearly everywhere you look. A lot of the new homes stand on concrete pilings with parking and storage underneath, and the pier is being rebuilt too, with the county awarding the construction contract in April 2026.
Salt air leaves a gritty film on everything here, and blowing sand collects on stairs, landings and the slabs under the house. New construction adds its own layer of dust and overspray. Taller homes mean more wall and more stairs to clean, and metal roofs are a common choice on the rebuilds.
A lot of island homes are rentals, so timing matters. We can clean between guests, work while you are off the island, and let you know when it is done.
