Cleaning in Fort Myers

Fort Myers has a century of housing in one city, from 1910s bungalows under the oaks to gated communities finished last year, and every age of stucco needs a different touch.

Fort Myers is our home base, and it is an unusual city to clean. Dean Park's homes date from 1912 to the late 1920s, Edison Park is full of 1920s Mediterranean Revival, and McGregor Boulevard's royal palms line some of the oldest estates in the area. Old stucco, old paint and old concrete are porous and can be fragile, which is exactly why high pressure is the wrong tool on most of them.

East of downtown the story changes. Communities like Paseo and Pelican Preserve, and the neighborhoods around The Forum, are newer, with wide paver and concrete drives, tile roofs and pool cages, and associations that expect them kept up. Downtown and along the river, condos and townhomes bring shared walkways and entries into the mix.

What ties it all together is the climate. Humidity, afternoon storms and shade trees keep surfaces damp, and algae and mildew never go dormant here. The shady side of the house, the drive under the oaks and the north slope of the roof are where it shows first.
