“In Cape Coral the water out back and the water in the sprinklers decide how a house gets dirty: canals add humidity, and private wells add rust.”
Cape Coral is the biggest city in Lee County, and it was built around water. The city counts some 400 miles of canals, and a huge share of homes back onto one, with a pool cage, a lanai and a seawall out back. That water keeps the canal side of the house more humid than the street side, which is why the back walls and the cage usually go green first.
The other thing that matters here is the irrigation. Where the city supplies it, sprinklers run on reclaimed and canal water, and the city says plainly that it will not stain concrete the way well water does. Much of the North Cape is still being connected under the Utilities Extension Project, with the North 1 area finishing in 2026 and 2027, and homes on private wells there get the orange iron fans on their drives and walls.
Many Cape homes are concrete block and stucco built from the 1980s on, a lot of them under shingle roofs, with metal becoming common as roofs were replaced after Irma, Ian and Milton. Shingles and stucco both call for a soft wash, and the long, sunny drives call for a surface cleaner.

FAQ
Cape Coral questions
Why is my Cape Coral driveway orange?
If your sprinklers run on a private well, the orange is iron from the water, and it needs a rust treatment rather than more pressure. City irrigation water does not stain concrete.
Do you clean pool cages on canal homes?
Yes. Pool cages are soft washed at low pressure so the screens stay intact, and the pool is protected from runoff.
Do you serve all of Cape Coral?
Yes, from the Yacht Club and Cape Harbour in the south to the North Cape.
